ABOUT THE OWNERS

We are Travis Fell and Marcie Hassinger. We met in culinary school at JCCC where we graduated from the Culinary Arts Program and the Food and Beverage Management Program, in 2008.

In 2009 we welcomed our daughter Kendahl into the world. Since then, we have always been on the go. Having catering events on the side plus our full-time jobs and Kendahl very active in Taekwondo since 2014, our dream of owning a venue and a catering company just seem to hang in the background waiting to come true. In September of 2021 a friend asked us to cater their wedding, our largest event to date and the number of people that wanted our information was enough for us to realize that our dream could become a reality. In May of 2022 the dream came true. Becoming the new owners of the W.

In 2001 Teresa and Garret Wolf opened the W Banquet Hall. They knew how hard it is to find the location that fits everything that you are looking for, and the W Banquet Hall is what they created for you to find the venue that you need. We do want to keep what the original owners of the W started. Still offering a place to have your event, while allowing your option of catering. With our catering company Just Fork It, we do also want to be able to offer you that option for you to choose from, working with you on the menu to make your event memorable and everything you want it to be.

We would love to meet and show you the space. The W Banquet has hosted many weddings in beautiful downtown Lawrence, and we know you will fall in love with the event space. Please contact us today to book your event.
